help building tube mic preamp - Click HERE for Original Thread
rafafredd
Hi.

I´m building a tube mic preamp that is a copy of the Pultec MB1. I´m having some trouble with the parts. I don´t know what voltage should I use on the capacitors and if the resistors are 1/2, 1 or 2 watt. Things like that. I´m searching for a experienced professional audio electronics designer/tecnician to give me those answers. Any good soul that can help me with my project will get the full manual for this vintage unit, claimed to be the best tube mic preamp design ever. The design is simple, but efficient. I payed U$60 for this manual, so if anyone interested on this project that can help me just contact rafafredd@hotmail.com...

Thanks
Joel
RF,

Almost all the resistors in a tube project will be 1/2 watt, and just to be safe, all the capacitors should be rated at least 400V, and 600V is better if you can get them.
Power supply resistors, for a pre with low current demands, would be in the 1 watt range.
