Can you elaborate on the setup ? How's the cdrom connected (is it as a transport or using its audio out) ?

Both are powered from cheap SMPS.The DVD player decodes digital signal under ATAPI condition with a ESS chipset,while the CDROM using
only the rear side analogue output.
