HELP - how to upgrade clock in rotel 855 CD - Click HERE for Original Thread
fatgaz
Hi,

I hope to tweak my rotel rcd 855 by putting in a tent labs xo3 clock.

BUT I can't work out the clock circuit. I don't have a schematic yet. if anyone has that section of the digital circuit ? also the power supply section would be nice for further tweaks.

supposedly I should be able to find a cap crystal and resistor in parallel via two caps. I cant see any caps near the crystal !

also where is the best place to tap the spdif signal for reclocking ? The xo3 pcb has a recolcking section for providing a new spdif output for external dacs.

this cd is a classic philips unit cdm4 with tda1541a saa7220p/b.

hope someone can help !

Hi

The caps may be on the other side of the PCB. Info on the SPDIF output of the SAA7220 can be found on my site:

Go one step further and convert the OX3 to an OX3.5 - then clock the TDA1541A directly from the new clock. Also, clock the decoder directly from the new clock.
