Dreaded Pioneer DV-333 Tray Problem - Click HERE for Original Thread
DreadPirate
A friend has two of these with the same problem, apparently widespread. When you hit "open" either on the remote or the unit, the tray opens and closes rapidly. Sometimes have to do this a dozen times before it opens and stays open like it should. Has anyone every figured out what is going with these?

look for a mechanically linked switch. two are often used - one to signal that the tray is fully open, and the other to signal that the tray is fully closed. If either one of these switches has contact resistance or bounce problems, symptoms like what you have described can happen...

Would a shot of de-oxit be the ticket?

Not familiar with the particular model - some models may use IR pairs to sense the tray position. But, if it is a mechanical switch, then there's a good chance Deoxit will clear it up!

Should be a mechanical regarding model.
