| I guess it's a wonder this unit is still running given the problems people have reported on it. The problem I'm having is that the motor makes a "purring" noise when there's a disc in the player. It's something I can live with, but if anyone has any hints on how to quiet it down, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. |

Likely the ribbon cables need reseating .. Unplug then replug them.
Possibly the CD tray is somehow jamming.. check for obstructions and re-lube.. sparingly. |

| Just wanted to post that I finally got around to reseating the ribbon cables and the noise is now gone. |
