I have plans to build a headphone amp using new Aikido boards (http://www.tubecad.com/2006/09/blog0080.htm)
I also want t stick to the original plan published by TubeCAD (God Bless his hosting):
I intend this thread to be FAQ and Q'n'A for people who have little experience in DIY so I assume all types of questions to be asked here.
The open questions:
1. Minimum/Cheapest List of parts (both for 32ohm and 300ohm versions)
2. Recommended list of parts
3. Power Supply
4. Acceptable enclusures available on the market.
5. I'd be nice to make a preamp (maybe secondary outputs via a switch?)
Thank you.
p.s. Some useful links:

| Have you searched? Frankly, I consider the Aikido topic exhausted, just about every permutation and combination of tubes has been tested and results posted by now. |

| 1 triode + 2 NPN +2 PNP +1 FET will work and sound much better (single double triode for both channels; transistors for CCSs, FET for a follower) |

The diagram presented in 1st post is published on TubeCAD on Sept 27th 2006. this topic is to discuss this implementation and help me build it.
Do you have anything else to say? |

Please explain what does this have to do with the diagram posted above? |

Significant improvement, both in price AND performances.
Use PNP pair instead of tube for the 1'st stage CCS, use a FET instead of the cathode follower loaded by a CCS on 2 NPN transistors and you will be happy. |

Is there a link to the more detailed description of this?
Any examples, parts lists, pcb, kits? |
