If that is the ONLY chip you have available, then yes.
2030 is a cheap (<25cents) chip and is a good chip for beginners to build. My first halfway decent chipamp was built using inspiration from this very site, and I built an inverted 2030 bridge amp, to get a good 20-watt amp at throwaway prices.
Since then I've used that experience to build other things.
But yes, it doesn't sound that great, really. The bass is very thin, and the chips run very hot.
You may not even get real ones anymore, they're all probably fakes or remarked chips...
For such a cheap chip, I wouldn't bother using a bridging circuit, just a single resistor to bridge the amps. Works well enough for that level of amp. |
