do I need to use a heatsink on a DN2540 in a B+ supply? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I was thinking of using CCS (using dn2540) but I'm wondering if I need to use a heatsink?

thank you.

Hi Jarthel

What will the dissipation be? You can have a rough estimation by multiplying the voltage across the DN2540 with the current through it. If it is more than some 0.5W I would put a heatsink? TAKE CARE with proper electical isolation between the body of the DN and the heatsink if the body of the DN is not isolated itself.
