Poll: girls???! - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi all,

excerpt from a random user profile:
quote:
High power HiFi audio, high voltage, electronics, automotive, rock & roll, rotory engines, girls , heavy metal, electromagnetics, computers

That was the first guy I've read the profile of that mentions that he's interested in girls....... So what's up with y'all, are you married, did you simply forget to mention, or do you prefer the company of self built high end audio stuff ??;)
ThingyNess
Not married, but still young and have plenty of time for that. Most certainly interested in women, but only those who won't get in the way of the hobby. :)

(My current "girl" enjoys music and quality sound systems, and has no problem with even the largest of speakers/subwoofers, as long as they get the job done.)

Hi Bob,
It goes without saying...........!
I Posted a link to pictures of Ella McPherson and even a picture and did not get sinbinned.

Hi Bob,
Maybe this is appropiate (No I am not Gromanized!):
(Sung by Patricia Kaas. She has such a low pitched voice, almost masculine that when I first heard it I thought she was a man)
((I know better now))

This is man's world
This is man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing
Without .... a woman or a girl

Man made the cars
To take us over the road
Man made the trains
To carry the heavy load
Man made the electric light
To take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water
Like Noah made the ark

Refrain

This is a man's man's man's world
But it would be nothing, nothing
Without a woman or a girl

Man thinks about the baby girls
And the baby boys
Man makes them happy
Cause man made them toys
After man made everything
Everything he can
You know that man makes money
To buy from other men

Refrain(x2)

He's lost in the wilderness
He's lost in bitterness

Refrain (x2)

Without a woman or a girl, no... no, no, no,
Without a woman or a girl...
This is a man's world, this is a man's world
This is a man's world, this is a man's world
This is a man's world, no...

Francois Torres can you translate this in English, I can't.

The link to pictures of Elle McPherson was in the thread in conjunction with the smiling camel....

{Jason, we need a better searchengine, nor the name Elle or McPherson brought anything usefull, but the camel did};)

sweden has a lot of beautiful girls
mindwise as well as bodywise

unfortunately not many are diy-selvers
not here at this place, anyway not yet
I am working on the case
JoeBob
DIYaudio seems to indeed be a mans world, I wonder why. Maybe all these big subs are somekind of subconcious overcompensation for something?

I share my hobby with my girlfriend, I like my amps because they sound great, she likes them because they heat up the room when it's cold (true story).
fdegrove
Hi,

And she never told you she just loves the low vibes emanating from the subs?:D

Cheers,;)
JoeBob
No, not the subs... ;)

Instead of sending individual emails, i'll just post here.

The sub-thread starting with Bas Horneman's white lie has been sent to Texas (formerly the Trash Bin) -- and the thread is open.

Guess we will have to get the gates up...

The gate hasn't been installed yet so anyone can go look... you know the trades guys :D

the use of "Texas" is an allusion to RA Wilson's Trilogy and adds A LOT of meaning to the concept if you have read the books (a really good read BTW). It is about Libertarianism, Quantum Physics, and a whole lot more.

I don't know about "adding meaning". It strikes me more as "like far out dude".

But I guess it inspired me to go and look for my own Stella Maris. Or maybe not, I was always into bootylicious black chicks....

Hey,

I get my wife to help me match FETS. She labels them, but has absolutely no idea how/why they are used.
By the way, she just turned 41 and is definately in a mid-life crisis:

1) Now really enjoys sex (every night;) )
2) Led Zepplin has replaced Chopin
3) I just bought her an electric guitar/amp for xmas.
4) She restarted exercising.
5) Hates the minivan

I think that I'll keep her...

Yeah, I have heard that version too.
My version can be said in mixed company, and you can get away with it - it drives the women crazy trying to come up with a suitable comeback, and they don't succeed. :D

Eric.

Eric,
I have to admit that with your version one is less likley to be sinbinned.;)

Yeah, and your version is more likely to get you a serve of hot tongue and cold shoulder too.

I have also heard that a wife is an appliance that you screw on your bed. :D

All Quiet on the Girly Front
/paraphrase of Eric  Maria  Remarque booktitle "All Quiet on the Western Front"

A book written Between The Wars,
by Eric who had been a very young german soldier in First WorldWar.
Considered as a milestone, when it comes to give a truthful telling
about what war is like.
Recommended!

He was born in Germany, Osnabrüumlck, 1898.
His message about horror of warfare, was not appreaciated by Hitler,
who stood ready to begin a new war.
I have read at least 2 of his book.
The one above and "Der Weg Zurück", in which he tells how difficult
it is to adjust to a normal life, after being formed by war-experiences.
This is a well-known fact, even in modern wars. (Vietnam-Veterans)

quote:
from a website:

Remarque began his studies at the University of Münster, but was drafted into the German army at the age of 18 and was wounded several times. After the war he worked as a teacher, racing-car driver and as a sportswriter while working on his novel.

The events of All Quiet on the Western Front are those in the daily routine of soldiers who seem to have no past or future apart from their life in the trenches. It's title, the language of routine communiqués, is typical of its cool, terse style, which records the daily horrors of war in laconic understatement. Its casual amorality was in shocking contrast to patriotic rhetoric. The book was an immediate international success, as was the American film made from it in 1930. It was followed by a sequel, Der Weg Zurück (1931; The Road Back), dealing with the collapse of Germany in 1918.

Remarque left Germany for Switzerland in 1932. His books were banned by the Nazis in 1933. In 1938 he lost his German citizenship. In 1939 he went to the United States where he was naturalized in 1947. After World War II he settled in Porto Ronco, Switzerland, on Lake Maggiore, where he lived with his second wife, the American film star Paulette Goddard, until his death. He wrote several other novels, most of them dealing with victims of the political upheavels of Europe During World Wars I and II. Some had popular success and were filmed (e.g., Arch de Triomphe, 1946), but none achieved the critical prestige of his first book.
