I've been taking my time working on a sub commisioned by my father but i've finally got it ready for it's unveiling!

It features the 12" Dayton RSS315HF and a 500 watt plate amp in a 2.5 cu ft enclosure. Cherry veneer with a solid cherry frame and feet and an optional top plate glass piece. Also inset in the top is a black marble tile (goes with the decor at my fathers house).

It's not the greatest but it was good practice for veneering my up and coming main speakers.

The glass doesn't walk off?

The effort certainly paid off!!
The wood working and finish is very attractive, excellent work!

Great work Boogs!!! Your wife/gf cant complain about those!! :)

Thanks for the kind words!

The glass can move a little but as it's for my father, it won't be seeing any extreme use. I was going to use those small, clear, rubberized stick-on feet but they actually caused the glass to rattle with heavy tones. The felt pads are mildly sticky; seems to work well in this app!

Nice job. Very professional looking. So does your father actually use the sub as a table?
boogs
He does actually. There's a table lamp and some books on it normally.

Nice furniture class work on the box.The speaker/amplifier combination should do an excellent job on the low freqs.
I have a question about the plate amp. Is that a Dayton plate amp also?
Did the plate amp come with instructions on changing the low frequency response by changing two of the resistors on the circuit board?
I'm contemplating buying a Dayton amp for one of my projects.

Hi REFUGE

It's a Parts Express amp (bought it on sale). IT didn;t come with instructions for modifying the response but you should be able to find help here or on the PE board.

I can only agree with earlier posts, very nice work indeed. What kind of finish did you apply to the veneer?
boogs
Hi buggsson

It's a mahogany stain with several coats of wipe on Poly. It could still use more coats but that's a job my father will have to finish!
