building a musical sub - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

I want to build a musical sub with the mad(nht)1259 woofer with the KG5230 amplifier

I have "few" things that I want you guys to help me with.

a. How the damping mission can be done and applied by ear? What area to damp first, close to the driver?
I read that sealed boxes subs may be fully filled, is it true with my element combination. On what fiberglass densities do you recommend.

b. Do you prefer a certain bracing technique?

c. Do the height of the woofer or the cabin length`s ratios of my current main speakers can be connected to the sub`s?
Is it good to build a thin & high cabinet and place the driver in the middle and not at the bottom(height)

d. Is it important to have the edge of the woofer far from the side surfaces of the cabin?

e. I thought of this bracing format what do you think?

I think it looks nice, but maybe not effective because I think that the parallel surfaces created cause unwanted standing waves.
or maybe this one is better:

Are bracing with cylinders is best?

That`s all for now..
