| I have two Charlize Tripath amps serving duty in a bi-amp system. Sometimes just after turning both amps on, or upon pushing them hard, one of the amps will turn on and off on a 2 second cycle. I don't think this is entirely temperature related problem given it happens when the amps are cold on turn-on. It's not a big concern, because I've always been able to solve the problem by turning the amps off and on again. Anyone know what might be happening? |

| Sonds like you're tripping some part of the protection circuitry. Could be over current since you said you were driving them hard. |

I had a couple of Fenice20 boards that did that. Just had to turn them down.
When the amps start to cut out like that. you're clipping badly anyway. But some of the chips seem to be more sensitive than others.. |

Hi,
Could this be ripple related... as in bad electrolytics? Variation within the IC itself shouldn't be too much? What components are associated with this protection circuitry? |

| From your description, I would strongly believe that Charlize has been over-driven. There was a similar case reported by a fellow member here sometime back. |
