Anyone have any experiance?
Still think it needs a bit warmth.
Is there any cheap projects out there that could work and sound good?

I agree that the T-amp need a liitle warmth. I have my modfied SI T-amp connected to a Bottlehead Foreplay tube preamp. The tube preamp provides just the proper balance for this T-amp.

My 41HZ Amp6 does not really need the preamp. The Amp6 sounds warm enough without a preamp. It is a matter of taste.

Change the input coupling caps (good mod) and slap on some aircore inductors and you'll probably get the warmth (a.k.a. distortion) you're after.

BWRX, in your opinion, t-amp does not require any kind of tube preamp?

what about the need for extra inputs? Somehow I don't find this option very attractive:

I don't think it needs a tube based preamp, but they can certainly sound different with a preamp. Whether or not it sounds better is up to you to decide. I've used a very simple buffered volume control setup with a couple of TL072s from TI and think it sounds nice. I also tried NE5532 from Philips but it had a slightly different character that wasn't as pleasing to me.

I don't use my Tripath based amp anymore because the little D10.1 modules based on the MP7720 sound better :) I'd imagine part of that is due to the DC coupling (no input coupling caps). In the near future I'm looking to build an active crossover (with volume control) to drive the little modules, or any other amp for that matter.

Maybe i answer myself.
My old Marantz is not so bad.
Compared to those Class-D.
Its more music in it.
More warmth....

When my hype just stranded im not so sure anymore.
Maybe thats im asking for some tube, even if i dont now how its sounds?
Its just more easy listening...
I dont know...
Just a subjective report.
