Full function IDE CD drive controller - Click HERE for Original Thread

Anyone know where I could find source code to enable me to use a micro (PIC/8051/AVR) to talk to an IDE CD drive, to enable its use as a normal CD player, or alternatively, are there any units out there that offer more than "play/skip" and "stop/eject" buttons. Not particularly seeking kitsets unless VERY compact.
cheers

This little Chinese unit looks perfect and the price seems very reasonable (far too reasonable for me to make it myself). If only I could work out how to buy a couple of them.
(BTW what is a *.rar file - my WinXP doesn't grok it)
