Welcome to the forum. Looking at the kit you have, I'm not familiar with the B&W loudspeakers, but B&W employ engineers to do their designs, so I expect they're fine. There's a raft of mods available on the wb for the 405 (mainly to do with the output stage protection). As for the 33... You can definitely build something far better yourself. It's muddy. (Oh, and the RIAA stage is particularly awful.)

Welcome, Ginsner! Saskatchewan is my home province. Went to university in Saskatoon. Cheers!

Welcome to diyAudio, gisner :)

Interesting kit, any idea where you are going with it?
ginsner
for now it is just cleaning it up.
the interconnects were more than scary when i found them
too many scabby repairs and not all that hot to begin with
so that is the first thing
But as i am just in the learning stage i am going to tackle my Luxman r-113 that i bought for $10
as well as a velodyne plate amp from an spl-1200 that was given to me

Welcome to the forums flat-lander. ;)

Anywhere near Regina?
davidallancole
Welcome, I am amazed at home many people where are on here from Saskatchewan.

I work for SaskPower in Coronach at a power plant, 1cm from the American border on a map.

Yeah Regina, they are the "OTHERS"

my buddy does seem to fall in love in Regina every time he goes though, every other weekend, so it must have something going for it.

Uh, a Saskatooner I presume?

You guys have a nicer sounding name. Regina is a word we used when we were children because of the way it sounded.

Still not as nice as Shellbrook.

I'm not surprised there are lots from the prairies. What else is there to do? Make potato guns?

Ooeey, I'm gonna pay for this. (ducking)
davidallancole
Making potato guns is fun. Specially when you build a sparker to ignite the gun that is hooked up to your computer with a computer controlled aiming system. Killing gophers has never been so fun.

the next time you come to Cow Town. Regards Moray James.

I have been running some 30 year old DM220s on my second system.

Recently fixed (!?) grating problem and plotted the F response, details on here somewhere.

My dad grew up in Saskatoon, played for the Hilltops. I grew up one province to the left...
