Hi-Vi's new U2S mini full range - Click HERE for Original Thread

Ran across these in an article, I think at Zaph audio, anyone have any info or have looked at the specs. This is a 2" full range and I'm sure will lend its self to nearfield and HT units only because of its size. Solen here in Canada lists a U2.5P6 unit by Hi-Vi, no price (email out for that), any info on these. Solen has a spec of SPL 86 and a Qts of 0.33 ???? Not beeing fully conversant with speaker building by any strech of the imagination, does this seem out of wack for a 2.5" driver??? !!!

Also is there a book, site, articles in the "speaker building for dummies" kinda laymens terms style out there somewhere??? I'm a hands on kinda learner and need things explained in a very simple way with analogies and pictures (LOL) before I grasp the concept.

Hi,

86dB and Qts 0.33 ? for a 64mm (2.5") driver.

Certainly efficiency is high and Qts low for such a driver, Fs low too.
If one is true the other may may also be true, they go together.
Note also nominal Z is 6 not 8 like the others, adds a dB or so.

looks like you could put a light behind the driver for interesting effect

The thing kind of freaks me out... it looks like the flesh of a newborn (or maybe an alien). :D The chassis looks nothing special, probably stamped. I think TB's 2-inchers look better, but don't even much like the size. Looking forward to a performance test, though. :)
