There was no intentional thought given to a golden ratio. The horn doubles its area every 36" or so. It's a curved horn, so the X axis doesn't apply for length. I moved the axis outwards to the 5/8-3/4 point and measured from there.
This is a 20hz horn meant to be loaded in a corner. Being truncated, it will require EQ, but seems like a doable experiment. Beings that there are no hard reflective angles, the output may register a higher frequency before tapering off.
I base this notion on the fact that I can get fairly high frequency response from my goose-neck bass horn.
