Sub burnt bad. Garbage? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey guys, I hang out at the projection area, but here is my deal. I had a fusion 1404 amp sitting around, so i hooked it up. Then I had a pyle 300w sub that I had in the house for a while. Decided to play around, even knowing I would be overdriving it. Well, long story short, it lasted about 10 minutes. So, I replace the sub now with a good one. But question I have. Do I throw away the old burnt sub, or should I do something with it, like rebuild it? I don't know much about them, so if I can rebuild it, that would be ok. Thanks Chad

I would say keep the magnet assembly for later experimenting and ditch the rest. I am a fatalist though.

Keep the old driver as it might be OK for a passive radiator.

oh, great idea. If you can cut off the magnet or at least get to the voice coil to cut it off or unstick it.

Thanks everyone. I think using it as a passive is a great idea. Thanks.
