Hi, first ever post.
I am desperately wanting to run a home audio system off of my PC, that is pumping music from the PC to most rooms in the house but have no idea where to start.
I would like to find out if there are any web-sites, forums, threads publications or even cheesy american do-it-yourself videos that will spoon feed me some plans, equipments lists, software needed and such like.
I would be more than grateful if anyone could pass on some advice, maybe descriptions of their own similar system, idealy it would incorporate some wireless speakers as 'her-indoors' aint to keen in lifting all the floor boards.

Start with the soundcard. If its value your after, Chaintech AV710 is a good bet for stereo if set up right. ~$25. Getting much better brings costs up an order of magnitude.
Im not really up on the wireless stuff. |

I've just spent over an hour trying to locate that soundcard in the UK but no joy. From what I've read best stereo is from the rear speaker outputs.
