HI Gang!
I just was given a Luxman M-117, but both power relays are shot. What specifically would work in place????
THANKS!
Mike:) |

Hi Mike,
Are you talking about the two relays on the speaker terminal PCB? They would be RL401/402, P/N 80T92285F01 (JC2AF).
So, what's wrong with them? If the contacts are intermittent, but not burned, they can be cleaned.

Hi,
Are we referring to the speaker protection circuitry?
Thanks, Nick |

Hi Nick,
Hah! Found the thread you were referring to.
The answer is - 42.
Yup, the speaker protection relays are commonly defective. The contacts either become oxidized and burnt, or arced to death. Do not burnish the contacts. The plating is too thin for that treatment.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the fast response. With respect to repairs on the Luxman M-117 Speaker protection, if the contacts are burned out are the parts still available?
Thanks, Nick |

Hi Nick,
Those relays are normally available through standard parts jobbers. Check Newark, Digi-Key and the other usual suspects.
