In short i have just purchased a LM385 kit from AudioSector, and would like to know if i am on the right track. My ideas are that i would build a pair of monobloks, each with a potentiometer, which i thought would effectively give me balance, as well as volume control. Am i on the right track here???.. If i am my next query is on transformer sizing. My speakers are single driver horn speakers, using the Fostex FE206E, the specs of which can be found here:http://www.fostexinternational.com/...FE-Series.shtml
The manual for this kit seems to suggest that the transformers should be matched to the speakers. I was considering using a pair of 160VA units from the range on this page:http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk/r...72657&XPAGENO=1
If these are suitable i would very much appreciate some help on which voltage i should choose. Thanks in advance

At 8 ohms plus impendance the speakers are perfect for the LM3875.
2 x 160VA = 310VA Which is more than enough
25V secondaries should give you just short of 35V DC, which is just about right....
Now just get a nice heatsink, and your ready.

Thanks very much for the informative reply. The order has now been placed, and am looking forward to this perfect combination...:)
