Could you check my parts list? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

I have purchased Brian's LM3875 stereo non-inverting kit. I am also going to purchase an aluminum enclosure. My goal is not to make the unit fancy looking but to learn how to build amps since I am complete noob.

There is couple of things I need like trafo, switch, etc. I have put together a list of items from Parts Express. Could you guys check it out and let me know if I picked correct parts?

Here is the list:

Avel 250V 18V+18V toroidal transformer

RCA jack pair

Dual binding post (will need two)
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=090-475

SPST heavy duty toggle switch
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=060-370

IEC power jack chassis mount
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=090-442

I am missing a potentiometer but PE does not have dual gang pots. I will have to get it somewhere else so recommendations are welcome.

Thanks,
Alex

Unless you are aiming to drive 4 ohm loads, i would go for a slightly higher voltage transformer, maybe something that would give closer to 35V after rectification... (35 / 1.41 =+-25V).

So, maybe look at

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=122-625

And if you consider the 1.6V voltage drop through the chip itself, one could go even higher.

I don't see a fuse holder and fuses on any of those lists...

Something like this:

Thanks guys.

I will place an order this week. It is shame that Parts Express does not have dual gang pots. I will have to pay more for shipping of one item than the cost of the item alone.

Also look at suppliers like http://www.rs-components.com/index.html . My local branch is so close I can collect my stuff and save on haveing to pay shipping.
