| NE5532 is a better one. Any decent component retailer or web shop is able to provide that. |

Are you sure about this ? I thought the 4580 had better specs and is a much newer part .
The SSOP8 package seems to be hard to find. I found some on Digikey I think but it was out of stock and had a huge min qty requirement. SO8 is common.

What about the specs for OPA types that AndrewT is referring to? In the general opinion these are the very best. |

Hi Klitgt,
The OPA has lower distortion but sluightly more noise I think.
However I checked the web site and the OPA2134 is not available in the ssop-8 package. This is narrower than the usual smd package and the leads are placed much closer together.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
I'll also try to email ESI and ask for spare chips which should cost them almost nothing. However I will pay for the chips and shipping. Hope they will be willing to oblige. The UK ESI office told me they cannot do anything about it . They wanted me to take it back to the local (?) agent . I bought it 12,500 miles away in the US !
Cheers,
Ashok. |
