| Hi, I've just joined the forum. I've recently rekindled my enthusiasm for audio and found that DIY is considerably more satisfying and cheaper than buying off the peg. So far I've done a bit of tweaking, built a couple of monobloc power amps, and I'm now building my first pair of 'proper' speakers. |

Okay.
Soon you will have your own homemade sound.

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Have you started the speakers yet? If so why not post a pic or two and show us how it's going. We love to look at others hard work. |

| I started them on Saturday. I'll stick a few pics in the speaker forum to show the story so far. |

These photos were taken when I built the amps.
Cases are basic 2U instrument racks from Maplin. I'll eventually get round to building something a bit more aesthetically pleasing. I've since tidied up the internal wiring and added proper soft starts and relay switched speaker outputs to eliminate the switch on thump.
The design is very similar to the old Naim NAP 135, but with newer, faster, lower noise trannies and better components. The heatsinking turned out to be overkill. They don't get any more than lukewarm, even when driven hard. |

Hmm, I think I can just about make out some amps in those tiny pics! ;)
Welcome to diyAudio, whereabouts in Kent are you? |

Sorry, I've just realised why the photos disappeared. Fixed now.
I'm in Aylesford, about 10 minutes from where you live! |

| In that case, I might have to grab some beers and CDs and invite myself around for an audition when your speakers are finished! :) |

| Sure, I'll give you a shout when they're finished. |
