Any cheap (and recent) DVD with acceptable audio out? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi everybody!
I'm trying to find a super-cheap DVD player with acceptable audio output for a friend in need of a very frugal audio listening system (the other components are a T-Amp and a couple of Indiana Line 5.40 loudspeakers).

I saw happy comments about the old Panasonic S35 player here.

Anyway, the short list for my friend includes:

Sony DVP-NS50P (recommended somewhere on the net for video quality)
Panasonic DVD-S29S
KISS DP1000

Could the decent Panasonic components make some difference in building quality?
Any comments or recommendations?

Thanks a lot to anyone willing to answer.

Thanks, but this is the thread I mentioned when I started mine... Unfortunately, neither the recommended player DVD-S35S nor the subsequent S47 are anymore manufactured.

Ciao, Massimo
