optical out to coaxial - Click HERE for Original Thread
wooddragon
Hi everyone

I am very new to diy and a real novice. I have assembled a dac and which has a coaxial in. My cd player has an optical out. Can i simply change the optical out socket on the cd player with a female rca?

Many thanks

Not a straight swap as one is light and the other is a signal balanced @ 50ohms.

You need to make a coaxial out circuit in your cd.

Get a schematic of any cd player with coaxial out and copy the design, its quite a simple circuit.

I have a marantz CD63 manual @ work but wont be able to send it till tomorrow.

email me brent at sercal-electronics dot co dot uk

to remind me;)
