| well, it could make an ok case for a gainclone, but the real question is, do you need a DAT player? if you dont, the answer is obvious. |

Looking further at the unit, It actally appears to be working now, Play, fastforward and rewind functions seem to work but am having trouble with record. A further description of this is in the other thread.
