Faders(potentiometers) - Click HERE for Original Thread

It seems that most slide potentiometers are 10k. The faders in my mixing console are 5k. What will be different if I use 10k. I can get 5k in the expensive Penny and giles but if I were going to spend plenty on potentiometers, I'd get 10k anyway because they'd be useful in other consoles. As, far as I know 10k is commong in analog mixers, including custom built ones.
Thank you

Hi,
usually nothing. To be sure, I need to take a look into the schematic parts before and after the pot.
