missin a couple of Resistors - Click HERE for Original Thread
yertzl
hey
i went 2 RS-compnents 2day for wallin jig2. though the shop doesnt stock everything.
im missing:
1* 8ohm non inductive 20W 5% resistor
8* 16.2ohm 1/2W 1% resistor

i found the 8 ohm on parts express,
but a 16ohm 1/2W 5% was the cloest i could get for the 16.2
plus they have their $50min fee which i wont reach...

so any clues where i can get these last couple from.

much appreshiated jens.

with the 8 16.2ohm 1/2W 1% resistors there are two required results obtained when they are wired in series/parallel:
16.2ohm 2W resistor (wired series and parallel)and
4.05ohm 2w resistor (wired all in parallel)

i was wondering if it would b fine 2 make a slight adjustment on the values by using 2 15ohm and 2 18 ohm in each arrangement giving:
16.5ohm and
4.09ohm.
would this slight change be a significant difference. im not electrically minded....

What are you going to use these resistors for? What are the precision demands?

im using the resistors for Wallins jig II
R5, R4 are the made up resistors
R1 is the 8ohm

i think ill have 2 ship from over seas.
Eric wallin on his page recommends DigiKey BC16.2ZCT-ND (16.2 ohms) or radio shack a 16 ohm... as long as the final value ends close to 16ohm and is measured properly for correct callabration.

but this resistor 16.2 ohm is .6w i have no idea what that does, i assume it would be ok. i think it just means it can adsorb more wattage?

I don't usually recommend them (there are much cheaper places around for 99% of what most of us need) but Farnell can almost certainly get you what you want and deliver it to your door in a couple of days or less. Will certainly be quicker and cheaper than ordering from overseas.

Hi,
16r2 = two series connected 8r2//1k3 or 18r//160r.
Use 500mW or 600mW 1% for each resistor.
Over rating the dissipation should make no difference to the circuit.
