| Hi, I have a used Aleph 3 and I am finding that the highs are a bit on the harsher side. Does the Aleph axtually sounds this way or maybe there's something wrong. Please advise. Thanks. |

Hi,
never found the highs on an Aleph harsh although they are not really restrained. It will depend on the other components if everything plays well togheter.

I cleaned my Aleph 3/Cable terminals and connectors with off the shelf alcohol and now it's back to sweet highs. Dust and dirt can do that to the sound. Experienced the same with my Zv4. |

wuffwaff, I don't expect the Aleph3 to be either. But it has been since I bought it and thought that it could have been due to first reflection or a harsh tweeter. I have 2 pairs of speakers, one is a Snell Acoustics Type J and the other is an Epos ES11.
Blues, I'll give your suggestion a try. Hope it works. I was just wondering if a bad cap or resistor in the amp could cause this too?

This is possibly a crazy idea but it's very quick to try on...
I had it solved for my diy A30's harsh high.
1. try to swap AC plug (L - N) on your preamp then see the difference
2. try the same thing on CD player, source
3. check again, +- connection of speaker & your A3 |
