| I am making a BOSOZ. For the power switch.. is it OK just to open one leg of the 120v or is it best to open both? |

kennethrl,

If you use a single power switch -> check to cut the hot wire... ;)
with a double power switch, you'll get no more advantages. :)

| Best practice is to switch both live and neutral. |

I usually do but I don't know why.
Why? |

Sometimes the power socket in the wall is wired backwards (neutral and hot switched). If someone is using a cheater to convert a 3 prongd plug to a 2 pronged plug, it can be inserted upside down and thus switch the hot and neutral.

Ah hah! The backfeed from a neutral.
That's why I'm a sissy and always disconnect the mains before working on the 110V stuff. |
