PV10AL Transformer burned, help! - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi

Currently i have a MV55 and PV10L bought together
from the importer and problem occurs when the biasing
lights is flicking and the light emmited out by vacuum
tube filaments is not constant, the spearker also give
out popping sound. I switched off the set and on it
back again and the set play well but after two songs
later the same problems come back again. I tried a few
times and the earth leakage circuit breaker started to
trip. I isolated the power ampand preamp and power
them up separately, the power amp biasing lights does
not flicker anymore. As for the preamp, it seems ok
and i let it on for 15 mins..when smoke started to
come out from the Transformer.

The transfomer is a Magnetek 783P2 and i cant find it in my country. Since there is no voltage indication in the transformer, i could not find other transformer to replace. Is there any body there to help me to advise what is the voltage require and what other brand of transformer i can use..thanks!

Magnetic 783P2 can be replaced.
you have 110v or 240V in singapore.

Avantgarde,

Did you manage to find out the output voltage of the transformer? I am planning to diy a pv10a but don't know the voltage neither. If you did, please also let me know.

Email magnetek at info@magnetek.it . They can send you a datasheet, and tell you where you might find one in .sg or .hk.

Keep in mind that the transformer smoked for a reason.

Hi.. do you have the PCB layout of the PV10AL?? Thanks
