parts express 500 watt air leak - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have a parts express 500 watt plate amp in a dual PR subwoofer and have some air leaking through the sub.
I tried putting some butyl tape by the hole where the wires come out through the back of the amp but its not working.
Does anyone have any suggestions to stop the air leakage?

Its coming out of the open RCA jacks and the knobs.

Turn it down?

So this amp has some sort of an enclosure over the guts-side of it, and the enclosure leaks?

Put some silicone sealant over the holes. Make sure you let it cure before reinstalling.

Hot glue... Fixes everything

I have some hot glue readily available so I am giving it a shot. I won't get to try it until tomorrow night though. I hope it sticks good to the plastic.

Stocker - it does have a plastic shell around the guts - I am starting to wonder if the shell is moving enough to move air in and out of the rear of the amp...

hot glue typically sticks well to plastics. It will peel off if you work at it, but if its not a stressed joint then it wont come off easily. I've used it to fix many airleaks with much success
BAM
The plastic enclosure is actually very flexible. I recommend always mounting amps like this outside the box, like I did, so you won't get stuff like this happening.
