hello all,
I am new here, though i have read quite a bundle of threads untill now.
Two days ago i disfigured my rooms' hifi. its quite an old one with a nice sound. it still works but its hanging on a thread.
I've been thinking of building my own hifi stereo amp in order to play music in my room.
my room is quite small with edgy nieghbours so i dont need much volume power and i am not much of an audiophile.
So basically what i need quite upfront is an easy to build , easy to find parts and cheap amp.
Ive read about the gainclone and it sounds like a nice project, though i am not sure how readily available are the parts.
and last i want to add an fm reciver to the circuit.
I would be glad to hear your advices, for some simple begginer project in this manner.
Much thanks in advance,

well, there is a little chance to get a great sound in small room
plus the neighbours....
why don't invest in a pair of high quality headphones and focus on building excelent quality headphone amp then
the result might be personal sonic bliss in small package
just an option....

Hi Ed,
a headphone amp sounds like a nice idea, and i am a great fan of listening to music with headphones, but i am looking to replace my current room hifi,
i listen to music most of the time i am in my room, and there's a limit to how much you can wear headphones.
Ive recently built a ruby guitar amp, and it came out great, after seeing how simple it was to get such nice sound, ive been thinking to diy a chip based hifi amp,
plus i want to add the fm reciever bit for various reasons, thats why i need some expert assistance.
