Has anyone built this beast? I am not sure if the driver chip is yet available, nor the schematics but I have seen a rough schematic of it, in an IRF presentation (in Japanese).

The IRAudamp1 is quite interesting in its own right but the new driver chip irs20124 considerably simplified the circuitry.

Would love to see if anyone has built it.

I haven't found any info on IRAudAmp2, where did you hear about it? If you have any link or document, please share it.

best regards,
Pierre

i think that tlf9999 mean IRAudAmp1+irs20124=IRAudAmp2:)

sort of right. IRF made a presentation a year ago introducing the DirectFET (6665), IRS20124 and the IRAudAmp2, which is essentially a IRAudAmp1+IRS20124.

It has a very fuzzy schematic for the IRAudAmp2 but you can pretty much make out most of it. See the screen capture - I have a soft copy of the presentation.

The IRAudAmp2 has the same front end, with the exception of a NOT gate right before the level shifter. Because of the IRS20124, it doesn't have the logic gates used in IRAudAmp1.

given that the IRS20124 isn't available - it went into production last month, I am pretty sure the same circuitry works with the National gate driver (LM5104).

Here is a picture of the IRAudAmp2.

multi self-osc ones on the same board?

yes, looks that way. each "module" is stereo, with th four directfets on one side (heatsinking through the copper plane) and the drivers on the other. and the module is vertically mounted onto the PCB - a high cost implementation in my view.
