couple updated pics.....the chassis is almost finished. i decided to go with a medium gray hammered finish for the top of the chassis... the miter joints will need a hair of touch up with puddy to really smooth things over (the metal chassis is not exactly square).... the PCB is nearly ready with the lead wires, so i should be turning it on in the next week

Exelent, good to see the wood finish and not black paint (tounge in cheek)

as for square once you mount the bits and pieces on it you wont even notice it as you will be too busy listing to fine sounding music ;o) and a classic style amp to look at.

besides your encouraging me to start a project mmmm

couple more shots of it almost all together..... all that is left is to connect the lead wires to the tube sockets, and solder the transformer leads to the PCB....

oh , now i get it :D
but why bjt amps dont show their traffo's then?

this chassis is way too small to hold the transformers inside......besides, it would look pretty naked with just a couple tubes on the top
