JoLida Envoy PreAmp or DIY? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Suspiria
Hi, this is my first post :)

I am planning to get a tube preamp for my fantastic DOXA 70SE (sent for upgrade). My requirements are: 1. A warm tube sound 2. Remote controlled (only the volume is needed) 3. Price should be under $1000.

I have been looking at an preamp from JoLida (Envoy) and it seem to be very good. But, recently I have been thinking about DIY projects, but unfortunately I don't have a clue about electrical stuff. I have seen drawings of tube amplifiers here, but that don't help much.

So, would it be smartest to buy a "out of the box" preamp or try a DIY project?

Is the JoLida preamp a good choice?

I have attached a picture of my DOXA :)

Given this condition, i do not see u have many options; in fact not even more than one.
