I am working on a power supply for a tube line stage. I need about 120V, though there is a CCS and anything from 110 to 130 is probably fine. The CCS will draw between 40 and 60mA (to be determined by what sounds best.) Attached is a first attempt at a design. Runnng it through the duncan amps program generates an error which can be alleviated by reducing the capacitance of the second cap to 250uF.

So, can anyone offer advice about what changes to make, whether I do indeed need to lower the value of the cap, or whether this will work as is. I am planning to use a torroid transformer (hence the hybrid rectifier), and as such I may need to add a voltage dropping resistor as the torroids I can find seem to jump from 117V which is probably a bit too low to 220V.

Why use a toroid there? It is more efficient than conventional EI at coupling line noise into the circuit.

Purely aesthetic. If I can find an EI that is low enough to fit inside a chassis I am happy to use that but I am not a fan of transformers on top of the chassis.

Thanks for the link, but are you pointing to something in particular? All of the preamp power supplies on the site seem to use silicon diodes and supply sell current and more voltage than I need.
