Kevin (oPossum) gently provided the web hosting. I'm still waiting an answer but I cannot get in touch with him.

Anyway the first few amps (upto Audio Art's) are working.

Need feedback, what do you think? Any annoyances? Any comment is appreciated!!

BTW: All other amps (570 total) are finished and ready to be uploaded

sorry , didnt notice u wrote that in the first post :)
are u gonna put schematics also?
Matt74
Thats a good idea.. but I really doubt I can find schematics for many of them.
What to like dislike:

1_ Is the "picture opening in a new browser window" useful or annoying?
2_ Should I add a navigation bar (next/prev amp - main index)
3_ Is the main index ok?

Thanks!

1 - useful
2 - I never use those anyway, you could put it in if you want though
3 - seems fine to me

There are a couple of quirks though, for example you have 3 sections for Kicker, 2 sections for Brax, the Linear Power section is just called "Linear" with "Power" as part of the model names, and some of the filenames in other brands are inconsistent (some of them have say axa-####, while others that should be axa-#### just have ####, like in the Avionixx section). Apart from those little details it seems fine.
Matt74
Thanks for your feedback!

Those quirks will be solved in time. I use an application I coded to generate the pages, so I must add the compound names to a table for the app to recognize the brand (otherwise it assumes the first word is the brand).. Linear Power is missing from that table for sure.
The sections thing is a bug... every good software has at least 100 bugs, will be solved asap. (nice excuse! :cannotbe: )
Correct model names are sometimes hard to find as the same amp is usually referenced with different codes, but I trust they will be pointed out.

Thanks again, I hope to have it online soon.

I have an Audiomobile 4 ch and a few other obscure items around that I could take apart and photograph. Is there an interest in these oldies?
Matt74
ocaukrell:
Already sent you a mail!! Thanks

Chris:
Oldies but goodies. If you take a look those Alpines like the 3558 are from the eighties, so the answer is YES, completely!

You can mail me to dtartaraATgmailDOTcom or dtartaraAThotmailDOTcom

Remember to take a picture of the outside and give me some specs (if you have) because it may be hard to find.

I noticed you pulled most of the amps I have internal shots of off of the amp pics thread (well, at least the Arc 2100 pics are mine, some of them, and you have the rest listed although there are no pics yet to see if they're mine). I posted a few pics of a Cadence ZRS-8 on the thread, you have the 10 but not the 8 listed so if you want them have at it.

All of my amp pics are on my site, you can use them if you want. I only posted a couple of pics of each amp in that thread and those are the ones you have up, if you want the rest they're on the site.

If you need any power ratings let me know
Matt74
O yes, I have the ZRS-8!
I have yet to finish about 80 amps, and the ZRS-8 is one of them.
Thanks for your info, I'll try to use the best pictures.
BTW thats a beefy amp... surprising.
I'm still waiting for an answer to upload the full thing.. if I don't get it within a week I'll try to use a free hosting until I figure out what to do.
Thanks!
sr20dem0n
Still not much happening....how big is the site?

I've got my own space with my school's server, flexibly limited to ~100mb with unlimited bandwidth, but I'm using about 30mb of that for my site. If the amp pics page is smaller than ~70mb I can host it, at least until I graduate in May.
Matt74
I'm a little over 100Mb now (600 amps).
Couldn't find the time to search for a decent free hosting, and Kevin has not replied to my mails yet.
Just wanted to check the adds code and ensure the hosting doesn't cost me the content :cannotbe:
I'll try to make some time this weekend. Other than that the site is ready to be uploaded, and the reported bugs are fixed.
I hope this doesn't take long.
If anyone knows of a decent free hosting, I can use that until I get some other place.
BoomBoomBoy
Too bad 90% of them didn't work when I clicked them:mad:
ocool_15
Year(s) would be nice.
perhaps a user comments section could be added to each amp. Not to bicker about the "real" power but user info like physical dimensions or class (ab, D) or other specs like crossover types. But in a way thats I guess reliable.
I have a non working MTX 282(all the power devices removed ect) I could get pics of if you want.

Will be a wonderful bookmark once you get more up.

If you need help doing some of the work I would be very interested. I have a diploma in CIS(computer informations systems) so I may be more computer literate than some.:D

*****UPDATE****** None of the links work

A random selection of links worked fine for me. Maybe you need to refresh your browser.

Nice work dude, kudos for the work involved.

Yeah, that might be it, I'm using IE.

Works okay with Netscape 7.2 as well.

Damn, it must be just IE that won't work.
anatech
Hi BoomBoomBoy,
Something to think about. Netscape 8 has three modes. Trusted sites use IE mode for compatibilty. Problem sites use Netscape mode (protected) and the unsecure sites use Firefox mode. I only use Internet Exploder for Microsoft update.

Anyway, Firefox and Netscape are both free.

Matt74
Seems to be working fine with Firefox and IE 6.0.
The site is pretty much static HTML, and very simple. It should work just fine with every browser even IE 3.0.
May have some trouble with css but the navigation should work with no problems.
Thanks to everyone for the kudos!
And thanks to Shon from Realm of Excursion for providing the hosting.
I hope you really enjoy it.

I tested both at work and home with IE6 with no problems.
