decent 1/4" headphone jack? - Click HERE for Original Thread
hifiZen
I am continually discouraged in my search for a nice 1/4" chassis-mount headphone jack. The only ones I can find are the usual cheap nickel-over-stamped-brass construction. Doesn't anyone make a nice one (like Cardas or WBT level of quality)?

If you've found something halfway-decent, please post about it, or if you have some wonderful alternative connector, feel free to post about that too.

I really wonder why this topic hasn't come up before. Surely I can't be the only one looking for a better 1/4" jack?

There are plenty to choose from!
'Pro' type, e.g. this
and 'semi-pro' like this
(make sure that you order standard rather than PO or Bantam guage).

Take a peek here. Cardas with Rhodium over silver.

dnsey: now that's getting somewhere! I haven't explored many European manufacturers (not that I know of many to begin with). Know of any other manufacturers I should check? Previously, about the best I could find were the Neutrik NMJ6HF-S, but these M-M ones look nicer, although they really are loooong!

DaveM: ... err, the jack (female), not the plug ... ;)
