Has anyone done repair work on the denon dp-47f speed controls?

The problem I have is the platter wont turn. I can feel the motor vibrating but not turning. I measured the voltage on motor pcb,I'm getting -13.75 and +9.45( the stated voltage is +/-12) Any help?

I'm far from an expert here, but here goes.

On most (all?) direct drive denons there is a magnetic strip inside the rim of the platter and a tape head type of device to read the platter speed. If the head is out of alignment, then speed will be wrong, but this shouldn't keep it from turning. If the magnetic strip has been de-magnetized, then it is toast. I don't think that this is the problem, though.

If you start the platter spinning by hand, will the motor kick in?

Does the arm lifter drop when you press the start button?

The arm lift (and motor stop) has an optical sensor somewhere. Maybe it thinks that the arm is at the end of the record.

good luck,

Yes All arm functions work

Hmm... Well, I'm all out of ideas. Sounds like a circuitry problem. Perhaps someone else has a solution.

It took 4 days but it working. I paid $22 for this turntable. It had a cracked frame and some broken traces. I epoxyed the frame and bridged the traces. All the functions work. Oh, It also came with a good audio technca AT OC9. I cant wait for the weekend,to sit down and give it a good listen.

Thanks again for the Idea, where to look.

Here another picture. I took off the OC9,while I was repairing the turntable.

Maxro thanks again for the Idea, where to look

$22?! Even with four days of monkeying, that's a steal. Now you get to enjoy the fruits of your labours.
