Here is an attached schematic of an older Phillips SRPP OTL amplifier meant for 800 ohms.

If I substituted 6AS7s or 6C33C's what kind of power output per tube pair is expected?

Is there anything I should be aware of?

Or should I use EL509's?

Finally, do a balanced config to cut out that output coupling cap?

Anyways... its either this or a SE OTL amplifier...

Hi,

The Philips circuit has a lot of disadvantages; low output power and only class A is possible it is basically just a SRPP.

In my first OTL that I built more than 30 years ago I used that circuit and it works and sound quite good but there are much better circuits available, see here http://www.tubetvr.com/otl.html
