Help with Pan XR45 / DCX2496 configuration - Click HERE for Original Thread

I'm stumped about how I should configure the XR45 as a 6-channel amp behind a Behringer DCX2496.

The inputs on the amp (not mentioned in the manual) are:
CTR - LS - LF
SUB - RS - RF

As for speaker level outputs, I have left/right front and surround as well as center. But my sixth output is "back".

How do I get a signal into the receiver and routed out "back."

Thanks.

The short answer is: You can't.

You can use the XR45 & XR50 as 4-channel amp but not as a 6-channel without modification. They simply did not design it to be used that way.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I misunderstood/misremembered threads I had read in the past about that.

Thanks.

Digging up old post....

I have same set-up (like Newform) XR45 & DCX2496 where the XR45 Front and Surround is used as 4-channel amps, driving 2-way diy speaker with the Behringer XO.

I am now thinking about the possibility to have separate amplification for the woofers which in my case has XO at 100Hz, by means of using CTR or SUB + for example Hypex.

If so, I would use 2 channel sub sum by the DCX and the woofer would run Mono but since XO is quite low it might work. Then, I could use mid and tweeter 2-way and the system would "almost" be three way system.

Anyone has any comment on that idea?
