Taken out from an old Technics receiver, has center tapped secondary of about 2x20VAC. Could someone estimate rougly the power of this device?
Thanks |

I would rate this transformer around 15VA

| Only 15VA? I hoped for at least 50... |

| The only way to find out is testing the transformer: increase the output load step by step and monitor the output voltage and transformer temperature. Output voltage should not drop more than 10..20% and temperature should not exceed 60 degC |

What was the power output of the amplifier from which this transformer was taken?
That should provide an estimate of the transformer's rating. |

| I'd say 15VA or less.... 50VA is physically much larger than that. |

IIRC it was 2x25W but delivered by a single STK4042 (or similat) mounted on a miserable heatsink...
Btw this trafo isn't so small, weights about 2kg |
