Hello! Anyone got any form of info on this amp ?

I won this "kit" today and is looking for atleast alittle info.

Looks like the basis for a great DIY amp!

You could pick any circuit you like and build it using that chassis.

So much for a couple of transformers. On eBay you usually can find nice working amps for about the half of that price, and often you find inside them that Telefunken 12AX7 or that RCA 6L6...

Good work!

What are the OTs for? Push pull? So you're looking for an EL34 PP in triode mode I suggest... Or take a look to the trannies impedance: maybe you can change the type of output tube... maybe some DHT??
Tekko
The OPTs in this thing were used with EL37 i push pull, prolly 6.6k for 26.5 watts or 5.6k for 55 watts, which one i dunno. Actually i was thinking of it as a base for a diy power amplifier. Also i have two OPTs on the way, hammonds 4.3k if i remember right.
Giaime
With those impedance value I would do a triode strapped EL34 PP... Have you got a schematic in mind?

Good luck! I wish I could find some used gear to make a diy amp... here in Italy there is absolutely NOTHING...
Tekko
Triode strapped EL34 is not for me, low power and high THD.

With the output transformers you have on the way I would use P-P KT-88s or P-P KT-90s.
Here's a very good 100 Watt per channel design:

Contact me for others.

Peace,

KT88 and 6550 is too expensive so i´ll just get four 6L6GC´s and build with the included manuals schematic, then paralell the channels and run as a bass amplifier.
