Preferred tube? KT88 vs. EL34 - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have a SE EL34 amp I built about a year ago or so. I have been thinking about switching to KT88s on the output just to see what they sound like. The EL34s are triode strapped and the KT88s would be also. Opinions? I'm using a E182CC input tube right now. I am limited on the output stage current as I'm using TFA204 output transformers which have a limit of 60mA. Will the KT88 sound decent at 390v B+ at around 50mA?

I can't comment on how the KT88 would sound triode strapped but I have a pair of SE KT88 monoblocks that I think sound great at a B+ of 400V and 75mA. I would think that you are at least in the ballpark.
