DC motor and supplies (Origin Live) - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi All,

I am lookling to upgrade my LP12 to a DC motor drive.
Most people suggest that this is the way to go and offers a substantial improvement over the stock AC motor.
I investigated the Origin Live website as a point of course but was shocked by the prices!! Hundreds of pounds for a dc motor and supply!

I know that people out there have mentioned that the OL motors are Maxon derived. Does anybody know what Maxon models the DC100 and DC200 are? and does any body know the circuits that OL use in their power supplies?

Thanks,
Mark

They use a simple three-terminal regulator, so it's probably a 317 or the like. Not rocket science. Your tricky problem is not sourcing the motor, but sourcing and fitting the pulley. An eccentric pulley will generate precisely the wow you were hoping to avoid.
