Hello, Im planning to build a chip amp. I want one that is easy and cheap to build but the performance is still good. Anyone can give my some schematics or links?

How is Cebu these days? You may find this is useful if you are starting out with chip amps! ;)

You're from Cebu before?

It's very hot here.. hehe and Philippines is getting poorer everyday.

I was there in 1981 on my way to Boracay. It was hot then too! Sorry to hear that things have not picked up financially. It is a lovely country and more should be made of the tourism potential! And if mangos could be sold here in the same condition as when they come off the tree PI would be very rich! ;)

The first better one I build was the one from decibel dungeon. I built the power supply different. 9900uF per rail. I have been happy with the results.

What's a rail? :whazzat: :smash:

rail is a term used to indicate a power supply terminal. I've normally heard in in the use of +- split supplys. It refers to the +ve or -neg terminals. Think of the power supply as 2 series connected batteries. you have a + a - and a center terminal which is normally refered to as ground. so 9900uf per rail is 9900uf between the + and ground and another set between - and ground.

Always start with the data sheets for the amp chips. Most have good, easy to build circuits diagrammed. Some even have PCB layouts.
