Polarity on OB sub - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi

I have OB speakers, and a OB sub. Should the sub be 180 deg out of phase in reference to the rest of the system?

Cheers

No. In phase.

icebear,

Is the woofer powered? Does the plate amp have a polarity switch?

If so, just try it both ways and see which way you like it.

Any low- or highpass in the sub or the speakers will rotate/shift the phase. You might even get stuck like me:
Having a ~90° phase difference between sub and speakers and only a 180° toggle switch.:xeye:
So if you don´t hear much difference between both polarities - it doesn´t mean you´re deaf!
