| My experience with the Icon II. Power Boss power supply with a jillion uFarads made it sound worse (muddy bass). I did everything known to man (and dog). hexfreds and LM340T regulators, Replacing all DIG ps caps with low-ESR types. Replacing ANALOG ps caps with Black Gates, ELNA Cerefines, etc. PS dropping resistors with inductors, Silver wires to the RCA outs. Not worth the effort. My conclusion: Topology trumps DIY parts swapping. Biggest bang for the buck improvement I ever did: Bass traps and Sonex panels. If you room sucks, so will your music! |
